It makes me so happy to be able to say we have an array of paradises within only a couple of hours drive from home. Noosa is definitely one of those places.
Whether you are a backpacker, a family, a couple, a single, a group of friends or retiree, Noosa has something for you.
There are the national parks, the surf beaches, the protected beaches, the river, the cafes, restaurants and shopping. Although it doesn’t have the nightlife of a major city, it brings you a laid back, oceanside atmosphere. In places like this, there are always one or two bars where the drinks start flowing. Just look for either a surf club or a backpackers hostel.
Although Noosa has an unimaginable list of accommodation choices, we prefer to camp at Munna Point Camp Grounds. That is on the river in Noosaville. So, away from the tourist strip that is Hastings Street, and a bit of a more mellow location to enjoy stunning sunsets!
This place comes close second as our favourite spot to camp. First place is the sand dunes, of course.
There is no need to worry about being bored. No matter what the activity, you can hire it. Boats, surfboards, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, cars and scooters are all on offer.
If the winds are right, inside the headland off Noosa main beach looks like a divine anchorage. I jealously watched two sailing yachts enjoy that very spot.
At the start of the national park there was a great little wave. Perfect for beginners or children. For those not getting into the water, a beautiful view.
Mad keen surfers can either paddle around the headland to find bigger waves, or drive a short way South to Sunshine Beach.
Noosa is one of the must see locations if you are visiting Queensland, or a must visit location if you already live here.
